Ugh. It makes my stomach hurt and made tears burn my eyes as I watched it. They're not rodents or roaches. They're humans. They're trying to make a better life for themselves. Have you ever been to rural Latin America? I have not and have no desire to go, but I do know that it's impoverished. Impoverished way beyond what we know. You'd fight like hell to get out as well, if you had the drive to do so.
We were lucky to have been born here and have everything handed to us on a silver platter. We've never had to take the chance that these people are taking, just to provide a little more for our family (a little more=healthcare; basic needs; etc).
I know there's no easy answer to the problem but I do know that, as long as we keep conveniently forgetting that those "aliens" are actually humans, with people that love them and lives that they're leaving behind, nothing will change.
